Noise complaints about planes taking off from Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport are on the rise.
County records from about the past ten months show hundreds of complaints sent to both the airport and the Board of Supervisors. Last year, monthly complaints were up by a range to 200% to more than 600% compared with 2023. The majority of the complaints come from Sebastopol, Graton, Occidental and Forestville.
Officials say there is more noise over west Sonoma County after the FAA changed procedures for departing aircraft last year.
