Fire Crews On High Alert As Strong Winds Return To Southern California

Fire crews are on high alert once again as strong winds have returned to the Southern California area.

The National Weather Service issued a “particularly dangerous situation” warning for a chunk of Los Angeles and Ventura counties and it’s expected to remain until late this morning. Moderate to strong winds were recorded in several areas Monday but there was no new large fire activity as of late Monday night.

Firefighters continue to make progress on the devastating Palisades Fire–now at 61% containment and the Eaton Fire–now at 87% containment.

President Trump is coming to Los Angeles later this week.

He is expected to survey the damage wreaked by the Palisades and Eaton fires, which have combined to kill 27 people and destroy thousands of homes and structures.

Trump told rally attendees this past weekend that he’s praying for the victims of the fires and he’s ready to help build the region back.
