Inglenook Winery in Napa Valley is suing a construction consultant, alleging he embezzled funds and illegally sold 26 fermentation tanks to another winery.
The lawsuit claims the consultant, George Beeker, misrepresented the use of funds and sold the tanks without authorization, causing significant financial losses to Inglenook.
Beeker denies the allegations, claiming he acted with the approval of Inglenook’s owner, filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. The case has taken a complex turn, with Beeker alleging that the dispute stems from a failed attempt to purchase a property with Coppola’s financial assistance.
The lawsuit is ongoing, with the next court date scheduled for April 9th.
