Today, California State University officials will hold a governing board meeting, their first since Sonoma State University announced a series of major cuts.
The 25-member board of trustees is not scheduled to discuss SSU at its meeting in Long Beach this morning. But, people connected with the university, including students, faculty and staff, are expected to speak out during the public comment section of the meeting, scheduled for 9:20 a.m.
Last week, SSU announced a major wave of cuts for the next academic year, citing a budget deficit. They include faculty layoffs, the elimination of certain academic programs and the end of all intercollegiate athletics.
