A newly-released video allegedly shows the moment a power transmission line sparked the deadly Eaton Fire.
The video was filmed by a gas station security camera in Altadena during the windstorm on January 7th. Lawyers from the firm Edelson claim a burst of light that’s visible in the footage is power lines from Southern California Edison starting the fire.
The Eaton Fire has killed at least 17 people and destroyed or damaged over 9,400 structures. It is currently 99% contained.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the devastating wildfires around Los Angeles is now at 29.
Another death was reported by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s officer Monday, the result of the Palisades Fire. That fire erupted January 7th and destroyed more than 23,000 acres and thousands of structures.
The blaze is now 95% contained.
