Marin County Sheriff Deputy Hailed A Hero After Saving Woman From Flooding Creek

A Marin County Sheriff’s deputy is being hailed a hero for rescuing a woman from a flooding creek.

The Sheriff’s Office has released body camera video of the incident that happened this week. The video shows Deputy Mike Dawson finding a vehicle in a flooded creek, using his baton to knock out a window and ultimately pulling the female driver to safety right before her car became completely submerged.

Authorities say the woman had been driving through the recent storm and lost control of her vehicle, skidding off the road and into the creek. Authorities say the woman likely would not have survived without the efforts of Deputy Dawson.
