Residents of Meadowbrook Estates Mobile Home Park in Sonoma Valley were evacuated Tuesday due to severe flooding and the danger of falling trees.
Three feet of water from the overflowing Agua Caliente Creek inundated the park, reaching the bottom of some homes. A large eucalyptus tree, weakened by the floodwaters, posed a significant threat, prompting the evacuation of several homes. Three homes have been red-tagged due to the tree hazard, and residents are unsure when they can return.
Authorities are working to determine responsibility for the hazardous tree. The evacuations followed a powerful atmospheric river storm that caused widespread damage and tragically, three deaths in Sonoma County.
