The remains of all ten people, including former Santa Rosa resident Andrew Gonzalez, have been recovered from the site of Thursday’s plane crash in the Bering Sea.
Gonzalez, 30, was a power generation technician who worked in remote Alaskan communities. His wife, Whitney Bowers, described his dedication to his work and his pride in providing electricity to villages, clinics, and schools. Gonzalez, a Santa Rosa High graduate, is remembered for his love of family and his ability to connect with people.
A memorial service is being planned. The NTSB is investigating the crash, which claimed the lives of nine passengers and the pilot, and is considered one of Alaska’s deadliest in 25 years.
