A familiar face is back in trouble with the law in Sonoma County. Michael Chilton, 44, was arrested last week for a series of thefts, echoing similar crimes he was arrested for in 2024.
Chilton’s latest arrest came after a commercial property owner spotted him on surveillance video attempting to steal items. Last year, Chilton was arrested for nine separate theft and burglary cases, involving stolen outdoor furniture from businesses around the Sonoma Plaza. After his release, he failed to appear in court, leading to a warrant for his arrest. After a brief return to Sonoma County Jail, Chilton was released again and resumed his alleged crime spree.
Chilton now faces a host of charges, including felony theft, burglary, possession of stolen property, and vandalism. Police are asking for the public’s help in locating additional stolen items, specifically large, round blue tables from Dutch Brothers Coffee.
