A pedestrian is dead after getting hit by an SUV in Santa Rosa.
The collision happened Tuesday night, outside of a marked crosswalk. Police officers set up a roadblock while they investigated the crash. About a block away from the scene, a suspected drunk driver was speeding, ignored signals and yells to stop, and slammed into a patrol car. An officer who was directing traffic jumped out of the way and was not injured.
The driver, a 62-year-old man from Cotati, was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
