After months of debate, Santa Rosa City Schools students, parents, staff and administrators are days away from finding out which schools will close.
The district’s board of trustees plans to announce school closures this coming Wednesday. Multiple schools are expected to close to help offset an ongoing budget deficit of at least $20 million. After school closures are finalized, the board will move on to the process of laying off staff members.
This week, the board found out the district’s anticipated state funding allocation is lower than initially thought.
