Santa Rosa Police Seek Help Identifying Man After Alleged Assault in Local Movie Theater

The search is on for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a girl in a Santa Rosa movie theatre.

Santa Rosa police say the incident happened last summer at the Roxy Stadium 14 theatre but the victim waited to report the incident until November because authorities say she was traumatized.
Police say the teenage girl was watching a movie in the afternoon and walked into the lobby to go to the bathroom when the suspect followed her into the lobby, pulled her to the ground and assaulted her.
The attack, which occurred sometime in June or July, remained unreported for several months as the victim dealt with the trauma. This delay is not uncommon in such cases, according to the police.
Detectives from the Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Team took charge of the investigation.
They told KSRO that they facilitated a forensic interview and collaborated with the girl to create a composite sketch of the suspect.

The suspect is described as a short Hispanic man sporting a bowl cut or “Edgar” hairstyle. He was seen wearing a gold chain and shoes similar to Nike Air Force 1s.
Police have worked alongside theater management in their search for evidence, but the suspect remains unidentified.

A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.

No other assaults have been reported at the theater since this incident, police confirmed.
