The California Highway Patrol is on a mission to hire more women.
They had a recruitment event in West Sacramento on Saturday. The department said over 100 signed up for the event but only about 25 showed up. Right now, females only account for about 6% of the officers in the state.
In order to join the academy, you have to be between the ages of 21 and 35 and have to be able to pass both a written exam and physical agility test.
