A Healdsburg woman was arrested last week on suspicion of child neglect and drug-related charges after police conducted an investigation following concerns about a child’s well-being.
Officers found suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and a scale in the mother’s vehicle outside her residence. During the booking process at the Sonoma County Jail, further contraband was discovered hidden on her person, including additional methamphetamine, suspected cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a significant amount of cash.
Carina Gonzales Rivas, 33, was detained on suspicion of possession and transportation of narcotics for sale, smuggling controlled substances into a jail facility, and child neglect.
As of Sunday afternoon, she is no longer in custody, and it appears formal charges have not yet been filed.
