Guerneville Restaurant To Close After Failing To Find New Location

Sad news for Guerneville foodies. Baked on the River restaurant has closed its doors after six years in business. Chef Helena Gustavsson Giesea and her team had hoped to move to a new location, but the deal fell through, and their existing space was already leased to another tenant.

Gustavsson Giesea expressed her disappointment at having to pack up eight years of hard work and memories into storage. Baked on the River had become a beloved community gathering spot, known for its pastries and later, full entrees. While the closure is a blow, the chef remains optimistic.

She’s now focusing on catering and private chef services while searching for the perfect new location, potentially even outside of Guerneville. Gustavsson Giesea says the closure is temporary and looks forward to reopening Baked on the River when the time is right.
