A 21-year-old man is behind bars in connection with drug overdoses that left two Santa Rosa City Schools students dead.
The suspect, Ramon Nunez, was arrested on Sunday. He faces several charges, including second-degree homicide. On Saturday night, two students, an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl, were found dead by a friend inside the bedroom of a home in Santa Rosa. Detectives found evidence of drug use at the scene and say the teens purchased the drugs from Nunez. The 16-year-old who died was a student at Santa Rosa High School and the 18-year-old who died was a student at Montgomery High School.
Santa Rosa City Schools is also confirming the drug-related death of a 19-year-old man who is a former student. His death is not believed to be related to the other overdoses. The district also confirms the recent death of another student, a 21-year-old man. He is believed to have died from natural causes.
