After a lengthy negotiation process, teachers in the Guerneville School District have reached a tentative agreement with the district. The deal, which comes after teachers authorized a strike, includes significant pay raises, increased contributions to health benefits, and contractually enshrined safety protocols.
Teachers will see an immediate 6.5% pay increase, with further salary restructuring planned for the next two school years. The agreement also addresses concerns about preparation time and class sizes. Teachers say this will help attract and retain educators in the lower Russian River area.
The Guerneville School District Board is expected to ratify the agreement at their March 10th meeting. Teachers say they feel valued and respected by this new contract.
