Governor Gavin Newsom has appointed Sonoma County Supervisor Lynda Hopkins to the state’s Air Resources Board.
The 16-member board oversees air quality and climate change programs. Hopkins, who has a strong background in environmental issues, will serve on the unpaid board, pending state Senate confirmation.
She emphasized her commitment to combating climate change, particularly in light of federal rollbacks on environmental regulations. Hopkins’ extensive experience includes leadership roles in regional air quality and clean energy initiatives.
