Former Major League Baseball star Jonny Gomes is bringing big-league training to Sonoma County. He’s opened a new baseball training facility and agency, Indie Pro, in Cotati.
The 10,000-square-foot facility offers state-of-the-art training for aspiring players, including hitting cages with advanced technology. Gomes, a Petaluma native, aims to provide local athletes with the resources he didn’t have growing up.
Indie Pro will not only focus on player development but also offer agency services, assisting with marketing, endorsements, and contract negotiations. Gomes has partnered with renowned coach Jason Ferber to run day-to-day operations.
The facility has already received positive feedback from local teams, like Cardinal Newman High School. Gomes plans to expand the facility to include softball training and simulated games. He envisions it as a one-stop shop for athletes of all levels.
