A Seattle-based company is offering residents of Sonoma County and the city of Napa a chance to recycle their hard to recycle plastics through the mail.
Ridwell, a third-party provider, offers a service taking “flexible plastics.” It specializes in chip bags, single-use grocery bags, snack wrappers, Amazon packaging, pet food bags and more items. The full service is not yet available locally, but, the company is trying out a new mail-in service called Ridwell Express in Sonoma County and Napa.
Customers can fill two expandable envelopes with film plastic, like sandwich or freezer bags, and flexible plastic, like dog food bags. Each envelope can hold up to three pounds of material & will then be mailed to Ridwell’s storage facility in San Leandro.
