US Foods Chef’Store To Pay Over $250,000 In Settlement

US Foods Chef’Store, a wholesale restaurant supply chain, has agreed to pay over $250,000 to settle accusations of false advertising and overcharging customers. The Sonoma County District Attorney’s Office, along with other county DAs, filed a complaint alleging the store charged higher prices than advertised and improperly added recycling deposits.

The settlement requires the company to implement a price accuracy program with increased store audits for the next three years. Sonoma County’s District Attorney emphasizes the importance of businesses charging the lowest advertised prices. Customers who believe they’ve been overcharged at the Santa Rosa location, or any California store, can report it to the Sonoma County Department of Agriculture’s Weights and Measures Division.
