Authorities Identify Man Who Died After Being Swept Out To Sea Off Sonoma Coast

Authorities are identifying a man who died after being swept out to sea off the Sonoma County coast.

Forty-three-year-old Shanglong Tang, a Sacramento resident, died after being rescued from the ocean on Sunday morning. It happened in Gerstle Cove in Salt Point State Park, between Jenner and Sea Ranch.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office says Tang was pulled into the water while standing on rocks with another man, who was not hurt. There was a high surf advisory in place at the time.
