A serious collision Tuesday morning in Santa Rosa left one driver with life-threatening injuries.
Around 9:10 AM, a red Nissan rear-ended a green Toyota at the intersection of Mendocino Avenue and Fountaingrove Parkway.
Witnesses say the Nissan struck the Toyota at high speed, pushing both vehicles 200 feet. The Nissan then crashed into a light pole, severing it. The Nissan’s driver was unconscious and transported to the hospital in critical condition. The Toyota’s occupants sustained minor injuries.
Investigators believe the Nissan driver may have experienced a medical emergency. The intersection was closed for three hours during the investigation.
