ACLU Suing Sonoma County For Drone Use

The ACLU is suing Sonoma County regarding its use of drones.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday, claims the county is guilty of “runaway” and unconstitutional use of drone surveillance on residents. The county uses drones for code enforcement.

The ACLU says it started as a way to look for illegal cannabis operations in rural areas. The complaint says drones are now used to search for land-use zoning or building code violations on residential properties.

The ACLU has serious concerns about people’s privacy.
