Wild Pigs Becoming Big Issue Across Bay Area

Wild pigs are causing increasing problems across the Bay Area.

According to a report from the Press Democrat, these large, non-native animals are destroying parks, gardens, and even occasionally charging people. Public land agencies are stepping up efforts to control them, with the Santa Clara Valley Open Space Authority approving $243,000 for trapping and removal.

These pigs, descendants of Russian boars introduced nearly a century ago, are multiplying rapidly despite hunting efforts.
