Cal Fire LNU Stops Two Wind-Driven Grass Fires Within 30 Minutes

Sonoma Valley fire crews responded to two small grass fires south of town yesterday afternoon.

The Press Democrat reports Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake Napa Unit reported a wind-driven grass fire on the 24-800 block of Arnold Drive. The blaze, estimated at 3 acres, started around 2:34 PM, howeever firefighters stopped its forward progress by 3:00 PM. Separately, a quarter-acre grass fire was reported on the 2000 block of Eighth Street East around 2:45 PM, and forward progress was halted by 2:58 PM.
