Santa Rosa police have arrested an 18-year-old transient in connection with a brutal, unprovoked attack on a wheelchair-bound man yesterday afternoon.
A Fifty-two-year-old victim was found at a bus stop, suffering from significant injuries after allegedly being pushed from his wheelchair and then repeatedly struck with a hammer and slashed with a pocketknife. Officers quickly located and detained Ricky Carver, who was found with a hammer and pocketknife, they also believe Carver brandished a hammer at employees of a downtown retail store earlier the same day.
