After a long hiatus, two Fourth of July traditions are back in Santa Rosa.
Fireworks returned to the Sonoma County Fairgrounds on Friday night. The “Fired Up Freedom” fireworks show replaced “Red, White and Boom,” which stopped six years ago due to the pandemic and financial issues.
Friday also marked the return of the World Pillow Fighting Championships, hosted by the Kenwood Firemen’s Association. The event had been held annually on the Fourth of July from 1966 to 2006.
