An 88-year-old man known for playing Santa Claus was arrested Sunday after an armed standoff with Petaluma police.
Authorities say Ron Shipley fired a shot from his backyard toward his home, but no one was injured. After hours of negotiations, officers took Shipley into custody and recovered the firearm.
He was booked on suspicion of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
