SVUSD Board of Trustees To Discuss Closing Prestwood Elementary School

The Sonoma Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees is set to discuss the potential closure of Prestwood Elementary School.

The Press Democrat reports the district is considering closing the school due to low enrollment and the need for facility repairs. The move could save the district an estimated $1 million to $1.4 million, which comes on the heels of the recent consolidation of two middle schools this fall.

A special meeting has been planned for September 23 for the board to consider the decision.
