Santa Rosa City Schools is cutting pay for top administrators and district managers as it faces a deep financial crisis.
Interim Superintendent Lisa August voluntarily reduced her salary by more than 18-thousand-dollars as the district works to eliminate between ten-and-15-million-dollars in costs this school year. If major savings aren’t found by February, the district risks running out of cash and entering state receivership – a first in Sonoma County.
The cuts follow the closure of four schools in June and plans to close at least two more next year.
