Santa Rosa City Council To Review Zoning Changes

The Santa Rosa City Council will review a proposal tonight to rezone nearly two-thousand properties around downtown for duplexes, townhomes, and smaller apartments.

City planners say the changes aim to create more affordable housing for working families, young buyers, and downsizing retirees. Some residents, including those in historic districts, oppose the plan, fearing it could alter the character of their neighborhoods.

The zoning updates are part of broader changes tied to the General Plan 2050. Tonight’s meeting begins at 5:30.
