Annual Sonoma-Marin Walk To End Alzheimer’s A Success

Over 1,000 people gathered at Sonoma State University on October 4th for the annual Sonoma-Marin Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

The Press Democrat reports the event has successfully raised more than $545,000 toward its $600,000 goal, with fundraising continuing through the end of the year.

The money supports crucial local resources, like a 24/7 Helpline, education, and support services for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Participants carried symbolic pinwheels—blue for those living with dementia, yellow for caregivers, and purple for those who have lost a loved one.

The large-scale community effort was supported by over 100 volunteers and numerous local business sponsors.
