Santa Rosa Police conducted a DUI checkpoint Friday night at Farmers Lane and Patio Court, resulting in one arrest for driving under the influence.
From 8 p.m. to midnight, officers contacted over 1,000 vehicles. In addition to the single DUI arrest, police cited 19 drivers for operating a vehicle unlicensed and five for driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Two drivers were also arrested on other charges: one for a probation violation and one for an outstanding warrant.
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, aimed at improving public safety by removing impaired drivers from the roads.
