SVUSD Board of Trustees To Hold Special Meeting Concerning Superintendent Search

The Sonoma Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees is holding a special meeting today, Tuesday, November 18th, to move forward with its superintendent search.

Per the Sonoma Index-Tribune, the board will review input gathered from various stakeholders, including students, staff, and parents, regarding the qualities they seek in the new superintendent.

Crucially, trustees will consider approving an agreement to hire two new consultants: Ron Calloway, former superintendent of the Mark West Union School District, and consultant Mark Mahoney. The two will be paid up to $20,000 collectively to help finish the screening process.

The meeting begins at 2 p.m. at the District offices and will also be available on Zoom. Rena Seifts has been serving as the acting superintendent since June.
