One lucky player is $5 million richer after buying a winning California Lottery Scratchers ticket on Valentine’s Day.
The Press Democrat reports the Maximum Millions ticket was sold at Husary’s 76 gas station on Gravenstein Highway North. The winner, Edy Giron Ruiz, bought the ticket while on a work break.
He told officials he plans to use the prize money to visit his family in Mexico, a trip he hasn’t been able to make since moving to the U.S. in 2018. The store that sold the ticket will receive a $25,000 bonus.
This is the fifth ticket worth $1 million or more sold in Sonoma County this year.
