The passenger killed in a suspected DUI crash near Cotati last Thursday has been identified as 26-year-old Juan Chavez of Petaluma.
The Press Democrat reports the crash occurred around 11:25 p.m. on Stony Point Road when the vehicle hit a tree. Chavez died at the scene.
The driver, 23-year-old Angel Torres, suffered major injuries and was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI. Torres remains hospitalized.
Chavez is survived by two young daughters.
