A Sonoma County jury finds a Rohnert Park man guilty of killing his 80-year-old father.
Cody Molica fatally shot Richard Molica on January 26th at their Stony Point Road home and waited roughly 15 hours before calling 911. Prosecutors said the scene was staged to suggest self-defense, noting two gunshot wounds to the father and handguns positioned to imply mutual gunfire.
Cody Molica claimed he acted in self-defense, while prosecutors suggested a possible motive involved his belief that his father was having an affair.
Molica is scheduled for sentencing on January 15th and has remained in Sonoma County jail since his arrest.
