A murder suspect is dead after he engaged in an armed standoff with authorities in Santa Rosa.
Sonoma County Sheriff’s deputies say Lawrence Cassidy is believed to have fatally shot a person in Cloverdale on Saturday. Authorities tracked Cassidy to a home in Santa Rosa where he engaged in an armed standoff with SWAT team members.
Authorities were able to rescue two other people from the home but Cassidy kept authorities at bay for at least three hours and is said to have fired multiple rounds out of the house.
After several hours, authorities used a drone to see inside the home where they allegedly saw Cassidy dead inside from a gunshot wound.
