Healdsburg Police are warning local business owners and vendors about a fake Christmas craft market that is attempting to scam people out of money.
According to the Press Democrat, the fictitious event, titled the “Joyful Christmas Crafts Market,” is circulating via a realistic-looking flyer that lists the same address as the legitimate Saturday market.
Police confirm the event does not exist and is a scam targeting vendors nationwide. One vendor has already reported being scammed out of $140.
Authorities advise local businesses to vet any event promoter and be suspicious of solicitations that don’t involve a formal application process.
