New Caltrans ramp meters on Highway 101 in Sonoma and Marin counties will be activated tomorrow.
The Press Democrat reports these traffic signals on freeway onramps are designed to control vehicle flow, reduce congestion, and improve safety during peak hours.
A total of 12 meters will be turned on in areas like Petaluma and Novato. Most will operate Monday through Friday during typical commute times. Drivers should watch for new signals when entering the freeway.
