More than 200 supporters attended the Petaluma Community Guild’s 30th annual fundraising luncheon on November 21st at Hermann Sons Hall.
According to the Press Democrat, the event celebrated the Guild’s remarkable 90th anniversary dedicated to the well-being of local children.
Founded in 1935, the Guild continues its original mission of providing eye care to Petaluma schoolchildren in need. This year, the small, volunteer-driven organization is awarding $30,000 to support 23 local K-8 school libraries through its “Love of Reading” program. The Guild also funds various youth summer scholarships across the community.
The successful luncheon, which included a silent auction, ensures the Guild can continue its substantial local impact despite its small size.
