The Cloverdale City Council reorganized its leadership this week, a process marked by heated debate.
The Press Democrat reports Brian Wheeler was selected as the new Mayor. However, choosing a Vice Mayor sparked a 30-minute confrontation with four different nominations. The final vote confirmed Todd Lands as Vice Mayor on a three-to-two margin.
The result means Wheeler and Lands will hold the top two leadership posts for the third consecutive year, despite accusations from some members that they were running a “good old boy’s club.”
