Petaluma Welcomes First-Ever Brick-And-Mortar Dispensary

History was made in the city this week with the grand opening of the first-ever brick-and-mortar marijuana dispensary.

Per the Petaluma Argus-Courier, Farmhouse Artisan Market, which has operated as a delivery-only service for seven years, opened its physical storefront on North McDowell Boulevard on Thursday. Owners James Clark and Claire Firestone say the change has already boosted business and visibility, noting it provides a “level playing field.”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Mayor Kevin McDonnell. The opening follows a June 2024 Petaluma City Council vote allowing up to three storefront dispensaries. Farmhouse Artisan Market is the first of the three selected businesses to open its doors.

The dispensary is now open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
