Santa Rosa residents are pushing back against a 162-unit housing project near the historic Carrillo Adobe.
Creekside Village would feature three-story townhomes, with about four acres set aside for a park around the adobe and Santa Rosa Creek. Critics say the proposal shrinks protected land and could block views of the landmark.
Swenson Builders, which bought the 14-point-eight-acre property for five-point-one-million-dollars, says it is listening to feedback.
The project will undergo environmental review, design review, and Planning Commission approval, with more public input expected in 2026.
