The Santa Rosa Police Department has announced a DUI checkpoint scheduled for this Friday night, December 19th. The operation will run from 6:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location chosen based on local crash data.
Police remind residents that “impaired driving” isn’t limited to alcohol; it includes prescription meds, over-the-counter drugs, and marijuana. If you’re caught driving under the influence, the stakes are high: first-time offenders face an average of $13,500 in fines and a suspended license.
Officials say the goal is simple: to remove impaired drivers from the road and keep the community safe.
