Greenfield Man Arrested For Felony Hit-And-Run Following New Year’s Eve Accident

A Greenfield man is arrested after allegedly fleeing a crash that hurt an elderly pedestrian on New Year’s Eve.

Authorities say 31-year-old Brigido Pena Villanueva faces charges of felony hit-and-run with serious bodily injury. The collision occurred around 7:15 p.m. at Morgan Street and College Avenue, where Pena Villanueva struck a man in his 70s in a crosswalk after exiting Highway 101. He reportedly did not stop, leaving the truck’s front bumper and license plate at the scene.

Pena Villanueva was later booked into the Sonoma County Jail. An investigation remains ongoing.
