One Last Round Of Rain In The North Bay

The North Bay is bracing for one last atmospheric punch as a week of heavy storms culminates in a final, intense band of rain today.

The Press Democrat reports meteorologists expect this long-lasting system to dump up to three additional inches of rain on higher elevations and nearly two inches in the valleys before tapering off tonight. This final surge is arriving alongside king tides, prompting a coastal flood advisory through 3 p.m.

Officials warn that low-lying areas could see water levels rise up to two feet above ground level. Drivers are being urged to stay off flooded roads, a reminder of the tragic incidents in recent years where local motorists were caught in fast-rising waters.

The rain should dissipate by tomorrow, giving way to a significant cold snap. By Thursday night, temperatures across Santa Rosa and the Napa Valley are expected to plummet into the mid-30s.
