On Saturday morning, an SRPD officer pulled over 33-year-old Edgar Vela of Portland for vehicle code violations. During the stop, the officer spotted open containers of marijuana in the car, leading to a full search of the vehicle.
Police say they discovered a loaded revolver hidden in the glove compartment, along with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Investigators confirmed that Vela is not the registered owner of the firearm.
Vela was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on multiple charges, including carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
