The parents of a 15-year-old student have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Rio Lindo Adventist Academy following their son’s death during a school-sanctioned activity last August.
According to the Press Democrat, Gengshun Kang died while using a makeshift water slide installed on a steep hillside during a back-to-school event, an incident the family’s attorney describes as a failure by the school to maintain a safe environment.
While the school’s parent organization declined to comment on the specific allegations, they stated that student safety remains their priority as the community continues to grieve the loss of the second-year student.
